Biography: Ryan Marcotte is an undergraduate research assistant in the Advanced Polymer Research Lab. His research focuses on analysis of the electrical properties of neural interfacing technology on shape memory polymer substrates. Mr. Marcotte is a part of the McDermott Scholars Program at UT Dallas, where he is majoring in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
Ryan was born and raised in Billings, Montana, where he was the valedictorian of Billings West High School. He was a National Merit Scholar and a semifinalist for the U.S Presidential Scholars Program. Ryan is highly involved on campus, serving as an officer in several clubs, including the IEEE and Newman Campus Ministry. Active in service, Mr. Marcotte is the co-founder and vice-president of Reaching and Inspiring Student Engineers, a community outreach program aimed at exciting young people about science and engineering.
