Biography: Sakthi Rajendran was born in Columbia, SC and moved to Wilmington, DE where she lived for seven years before moving to Houston, TX. She graduated from Clear Creek High School as the salutatorian of her class. She was offered the UT Dallas Academic Excellence National Merit Scholarship and began her undergraduate studies at UTD in the fall of 2011.
Sakthi joined the Advance Polymer Research Laboratory during the summer of 2013 where she has been working on the fabrication and implementation of novel neural interfaces. She is majoring in Neuroscience and expects to graduate in May of 2015. She is an active member of the Neuroscience Student Association and Delta Epsilon Iota. Her interests include biomedical devices, memory, and sensory neuroscience. She is planning on attending graduate school to get her PhD in Neuroscience and eventually start her own biomedical research company.
